Howdy and Mabuhay friends!

So glad you are here.

I’ve been diligently working on “nesting” for the show + podcast. This is the home base for the Mae Out West Show, and there is no place like home. And throughout the week, you can find my affiliate stations playing the show across the USA and beyond.

This week moves across a few lanes — honky tonkin’, swingin’, and wrapping up in the gospel tradition.

Tim Tamashiro opens the show with “I Turn into a Cowboy” — an Asian-Canadian artist stepping into Western swing in a larger-than-life kinda way. And it’s the perfect show opener, because I’ve incorporated a ton of swinging numbers on this radio show, without apology, might I add.

Somewhere in the middle of a late-night scroll, I landed on Rob Dehlinger and His Alpha Rhythm Kings. Haven’t really stopped listening since. Their musical style is top-notch, and the content they put out, matches that cool cat look and leaves you swinging on a star. They’ve played Disneyland, and there’s footage of them out at Frank Sinatra’s place in Palm Springs. Do yourself a kindness and be sure to follow Rob and the boys. Billy Mata shows up here as well. You’ve heard him on the Mae Out West podcast.

From Santa Cruz, Poi Rogers brings us their new single, “Gil Carter.”

Poi Rogers give us a baseball history lesson with their song “Gil Carter” and make us fall in love with them all over again. | Photo Courtesy of Poi Rogers.

And EVEN closer to home, Candy Girard and Kevin Russell on “Gee Baby Ain’t I Good to You.” Bay Area players. Friends. I’ll be playing with both of them in May at Sebastopol, alongside my band, Mae McCoy and Her Neon Stars.

Fiddler Candy Girard & Kevin Russell — Yes, I’m a fan!

Remember to support these amazing artists and tune in next week.

As ever,

Mae ❤️
